LOG: RECONDITIONING OF A SIMEC TILES POLISHER 1+5
In this post, we will make a log of the reconditioning of a marble tiles polisher. We will follow the activities from the beginning of the repairing to the final installation in the client’s facility.
No worries how bad is the initial condition of the machine because we will deeply refurbish it in every aspect: carpentry, mechanically and electrically. In this case we choose also to rebuild the table because it’s not perfectly flat and we will put 2 inverters for the belt and the bridge movements.
STEP 1:
Initial status of the Polisher installed in the seller’s factory and out of service!
The polisher is still in the seller’s shop; unfortunately it’s not used since 3 or 4 months ago and if we power on it all the heads but one are working. The frame is not in good condition mainly in the bottom side and under the bench. The electric panel is old and there are no inverters for the bridge and the belt movement.
STEP 2:
Mechanical dismantling and washing
As soon as the machine reaches our workshop we start its checking and dismantling in order to identify parts to replace and proceed with the spare parts orders to our suppliers
The polishing machine at this stage is completely disassembled. The table needs a deep reconstruction but the bridge is ready for the sandblasting. This is the moment to list all the bearings, seals, bellows, pipes and all the parts we have to replace. Let’s make orders to our trusted suppliers”
STEP 3:
Table rebuilding
No worries it will be again like new !!! It’s time to show our force.
STEP 4:
Sandblasting
This is the stage of the sandblasting. We remove the dust and we prepare it for the painting. This in the photo is the bridge where we will install all the heads and the calibrator
STEP 5:
Mechanical parts refurbishing
In this stage all the spindles of the polishing line have been refurbished- All the bearings, the gaskets and other worn mechanical have been replaced with new parts.
STEP 6:
Reassembly
In this final stage our technicians reassembly the various components on the base structure (table + bridge). What will be the final result? A polisher as new on every aspect!
STEP 7:
Final test
When the polishing line is fully assembled we make tests simulating work operation. At the end of the tests, the machine is ready to be sent to the customer.
